The Museum and Cultural Centre are housed in a distinctive Australian building designed by the famous architect Glenn Murcutt. You'll find the centre located in a shady and pleasant park at the southern end of town along the Pacific Highway.
One of Kempsey's most famous sons was Slim Dusty, an Australian Icon and Country Music legend. To celebrate and commemorate Slim Dusty life and achievements, a world class centre, of national significance, is going to be built in Kempsey. Called the Slim Dusty Centre, this exciting and innovative museum, café/dining area and museum shop is sure to make Kempsey a must see destination.
